Lybethras Brazil - Swimwear 2010

Luciana Martinez is the Designer, Founder and CEO of the Lybethras brand of swimwear which is based in Porto Alegre, Brazil. She has been designing clothes for ever, as a young girl she would sew her own dresses and off course all her friends tagged along to have some tailored made designs from her.
She was never impressed with the bikini she would see in stores or on the HOT beaches of Brazil, she felt they lack that "excitement" to them. So she took matters in to her hands and hired a seamstress, that was the beginning of her great designing venture. By the time she was 19 she opened her first store.

Luciana uses a Lycra/Nylon blend fabric of the highest quality and also produces designs made of Shiny Cirre Lycra for sparkles and dazzle. Her designs not only consist of top fabrics but are also adorned with embellishments like, chains, rings, sequence, swarosky crystals and mother or pearl.
The combination make the bikinis, of high quality and very chic, with out a doubt for a woman with confidence and style that wants to stand out with class. (scroll down for more photos).

Today, Lybethras produces bikinis for special women in 22 countries.

John Galliano - RTW Fall 2010

A year ago, John Galliano sent out a parade of Russian/Balkan folkloric princesses; this season, as his he explained, "a tribe of adventuring nomads" trekked "through a mountainous terrain, crossing imaginary borders in search of a new land." Last March, there was fake snow; this year, his bronzed, bewigged models walked through a blizzard of silver glitter.
I'm loving the concept of imaginative melding of cultures and eras into single outfits. Even more than a year ago, there is a quite a "clear" disconnection between this spectacle of a show and the bigger fashion picture, with its new focus on simplicity. The fireworks that accompanied Galliano's was relief....maybe simplicity is just some thing that in Galliano's world doesn't exist. Genius! (scroll down for more photos).
